Now that I have moved from a nominee to an invitee, the world still looks the same. The only difference is I am all the more ready to graduate. I really can’t put it in to words, just how tired I am of going to class and doing assignments. And for those who know me, you know that I am usually a big fan of school, or as some would say, a nerd. But all of that has changed in the past two months. I find homework assignments to be pointless and tedious. Classes have become long and drawn out. Everyday I wish graduation was yesterday. There are times when I know I should be studying and/or writing some paper but instead, I turn on my music and start reading a leisure book. (I know, I said I was a nerd.) I even tried dropping one of my classes that I didn’t need because we have to turn in a term paper that I haven’t even started. But my professor was so adamant about me staying in the course that I really don’t have to do the term paper….now, if I can get all of my professor to agree to this, life would be so much better.
With regards to this blog, I have yet to decide what type of outlet I would like to use this for. I have pondered using it as a means of making people aware of what’s going on, on the African continent and across the Diaspora, until I arrive in Burkina Faso. I do know that the majority of people on PCJ are probably more interested in reading about PC updates, but I just (at this very moment) decided that nominees should also be interested in learning about one of the potential regions that they may serve in. If this uninterest you, and you would rather hear about the application timeline, my apologies, but there are more pressing issues in the world as we speak. My work with TransAfrica Forum has really shown me the lack of transparency with regards to international politics and as Americans, we should try to stay abreast on these issues.
Invitation Kit update: Visa, Passport, Aspiration statement and Resume have been sent off! Now the wait continues again.
Peace and Blessings
